A 9-4 Job Works for Most People

Most would say that the implication of a 9–4 job would be great. Through the efforts of Helen Hu as Sports Chair, the North Texas Chapter had one of the most successful events of the year on Friday July 7, 2006. Nineteen University of Minnesota Alumni and friends from the North Texas Chapter Region converged at Ameriquest Field in Arlington http://texas.rangers.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/tex/ballpark/index.jsp

to watch the game between these two franchise teams, with a start time of 7:35 P.M.

The Rangers scored eight of their nine runs in the first three innings of the game, until the Twins rotated their pitchers and saw better results. After that, the Twins were better able to keep the Rangers at bay, and actually score a total of four runs for themselves http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/scoreboard/sb_20060707.html .

As is customary, the Rangers give mention to all groups in attendance at the game, including the University of Minnesota Alumni Association, North Texas Chapter http://www.alumni.umn.edu/chapter-northtexas.html . As

is customary at many of our events, we held our 50/50 raffle which helps fund our endowed scholarship fund http://www.alumni.umn.edu/22Feb20062.html . Several in our group won merchandise from the University of Minnesota which we raffled off. The other 50 from the 50/50 was won by member John Kelley. John walked away with $11.00, and was also lucky enough to win a coffee thermos. Congratulations John. That is what happens when you take a chance with buying our raffle tickets. You might actually win!! And the proceeds go to a good cause – building the North Texas Chapter endowed scholarship fund.

We all welcomed Valerie Jo Oliver’s daughter and wished her well, as she will be starting at the University of Minnesota this fall. What an excellent University to choose to attend!!
