"Why the helmet?", asks Goldie

Got String?

On December 17, 2006 there were 20 University of Minnesota Alumni and friends gathered at Big Buck Brewery and Steakhouse to celebrate Christmas and the holidays. Key attractions of the day, and the event, were the mandatory Walleye Fry and as a special feature Valerie Oliver’s Spinning Fun Show (http://spintastics.com/Valerie_Oliver.asp) – a demonstration of the spinning arts of Yo-Yo, Spin Top and Diabolo. Connor, son of U of M alumna Kellie Manderfeld, ’93 Liberal Arts/Psych, was an enthusiastic volunteer in helping Valerie demonstrate her Spinning Fun Show. Nice work Connor! Kellie says that Connor is still enthralled with that Yo-Yo.

The chapter would also like to thank Michael Dillon of http://www.bobblemike.com/ for having donated the statue of Goldy. We auctioned Goldy via silent auction to the highest bidder. Congratulations Kellie Manderfeld. The statue ought to look great anywhere you put it. Goldy wears well anywhere you put him!!

We extend many thanks to Malcolm Burdick, Ph.D. for having taken the excellent photos of the evening. Kudos to Cleon Converse of Big Buck Brewery and Steakhouse for the excellent accommodations and service provided us. And as usual, the Walleye Fry was great!
