Cultural Capitals of Russia

Marvel at Moscow’s czarist grandeur including Red Square, the dazzling onion domes of St. Basil’s Cathedral and the spires of the fabled Kremlin. Explore the unrivaled artistic and architectural treasures of St. Petersburg during specially arranged visits to the world-renowned Hermitage Museum and Catherine’s Palace, with its recently restored Amber Room.




Daily Itinerary

Day 1:  Depart from your gateway city for St. Petersburg.

Day 2:  Arrive in St. Petersburg and check into the Grand Hotel Europe.

Day 3:  Enjoy a city tour of St. Petersburg, where you will visit sites such as St. Isaac's Cathedral, the Peter and Paul Fortress, as well as the Palace Square.

Day 4:  Experience the beautiful artwork of the Hermitage Museum, one of the world's greatest art galleries.  After the museum, the afternoon is free to pursue your own interests.

Day 5:  Tour the imperial compound of Tsarskoe Selo and its Catherine Palace, an elaborate Baroque and Rococo residence built in 1752.

Day 6:  Enjoy a walking tour of Moscow, where you will see sites such as Red Square, St. Basil's Cathedral, and Novodevichy Covenent.

Day 7:  Go on an optional tour of the Tretyakov Gallery, which holds the world's finest and most extensive collection of Russian art, spanning more than 1,000 years. 

Day 8:  The morning is free for you to experience Moscow on your own.  Then in the afternoon, visit the halls of the Kremlin where you will tour the Armory, the oldest museum in Russia, and treasures such as the Diamond Throne of Czar Alexis and the Faberge Easter eggs.

Day 9:  Transfer to the airport for your return flight to the U.S.
