Photograph by Sher Stoneman | Dana Souther was part of a CFANS workgroup charged with creating a vision for alumni relations in the college. This led to the creation of the CFANS Departmental Council on Alumni Relations, a group of representatives from each of the college’s departments that meets every month to plan programs and events to involve alumni and friends in the college. As chair of this council, Dana facilitated the meetings, wrote sections of the CFANS Alumni and Friends newsletter and served as liaison to the CFANS Alumni Society.
Dana consistently goes above and beyond her staff role, always contributing to the success of the CFANS Alumni Society. This year, with leadership from Dana, CFANS alumni partnered with the Animal Science Department to host a hospitality room for alumni and friends at a major professional meeting. Dana also provided leadership to the Annual Alumni Holiday Social and has been involved with many other alumni events and activities. She has been a tremendous resource for the volunteers, a great ambassador for her department and the college, and a true advocate for alumni relations.
