Floyd Goes To Iowa

To Never See Dome Again

In the Gophers last game in the Metrodome, the Floyd of Rosedale trophy travels to Iowa on November 22, 2008 with its keeper for one year. As many of you know, the stadium on the Minneapolis Campus is scheduled to open in fall of 2009 (http://stadium.gophersports.com/). No more trips to the Metrodome in downtown Minneapolis.

The University of Iowa Alumni Association, North Texas Club invited the UMAA – North Texas Chapter at one of their game watch locations. Over ten Gopher Alums and Gopher Alum “wannabes” came out to cheer our team on. Unfortunately the fortunes of Team Gophers took a strange turn of events. Amy Schultz (President) of Iowa’s North Texas Club and their Board of Directors were gracious hosts. The Buffalo Wild Wings Grill and Bar in Lewisville was a fun place for a game watch

The BIG news for the North Texas Chapter was introducing our new Sports Chair Jayson Walton - 1999 / B.S. Youth Studies/Communication. Jayson is a gregarious leader. He already has plans for the North Texas Chapter. Many of you met Jayson and his wife at our wine tasting event last September (Gopher Wine Tasting - September 13, 2008).
