Gopher Alums – seven in all – congregated at Vidalias inside

When do we start?

The Renaissance Worthington Hotel in Fort Worth for a North Texas Chapter first time ever Bourbon tasting. Sales Coordinator Laura Mckee (Laura.Mckee@renaissancehotels.com) of The Renaissance Worthington Hotel (http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/dfwdt-renaissance-worthington-hotel-fort-worth/) made sure that we had a room – Vidalias – all to ourselves for this exclusive Gopher only event.

911 - I need a bottle for the raffle!

On Premise Spirits Rep TJ Samuelson from Republic National Distributing Company had meticulously set out setting for us before our arrival. Each setting consisted of five samples - Buffalo Trace; Blanton’s Bourbon; Eagle Rare 10 Year Single Bourbon; Gentlemen Jack; and Woodford Reserve – for us to sample and enjoy. TJ Samuelson’s expert knowledge guided us through each sample, one by one explaining the virtues and characteristics. In between we were given appetizers to amuse our palettes. Through the generosity of On Premise Spirits Rep TJ Samuelson (tj.samuelson@rndc-usa.com) from Republic National Distributing Company (http://www.rndc-usa.com), towards the end of the evening, we were able to have a drawing for a bottle of Bourbon - Buffalo Trace to be exact. Congratulations to Neal A. Nelson (M.B.A., 1992) for being the lucky recipient. I am sure that went down well while watching the SuperBowl!
