Passage to Panama

Experience this voyage on Oceania Cruises' Regatta, an elegant and intimate ship, where all of your wants and needs will be catered to.  Sail along Mexico's historic west coast stopping in Cabo San Lucas, Acapulco, Huatulco, and Puerto Chiapas before cruising to tropical Puntarenas in Costa Rica, which is full of lush rainforests.  Then you will pass through the Panama Canal to charming Cartegena, Colombia, and continue through the Caribbean to vibrant Key West, Florida.

Daily Itinerary

Day 1:  Depart from your gateway city for Los Angeles, California, where you will embark on the Regatta.

Day 2:  Cruise the Pacific Ocean.

Day 3:  Cruise the Pacific Ocean.

Day 4:  Spend the day in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, where you can take a scenic tour of this exotic desert landscape and enjoy fabulous views of the coastline and cactus garden.  You can also take a horseback ride on the beach, snorkel in a quiet cove or go in search of migrating gray whales.

Day 5:  Cruise the Pacific Ocean.

Day 6:  Experience Acapulco, Mexico, where you can enjoy the breathtaking views of Acapulco Bay from Fort San Diego or the Chapel of Peace.  You can also swim or stroll along miles of magnificent beach.  Don't miss the cliff divers of La Quebrada or the old colonial quarter of town.

Day 7:  Discover Huatulco, Mexico, which has more than 36 beaches on nine bays, and is surrounded by lush lowland, jungle vegetation.  These beaches are known for their blue-green waters, mild waves, white sands, and spectacular snorkeling and scuba diving. 

Day 8:  Spend the day in Puerto Chiapas, Mexico, where you can experiene an impressive Mayan archaeological area with ruins embedded in the heart of a tropical jungle and amazing temples dating back to 400 - 700 A.D.  You can also visit
Anguilla
the Central Miguel Hidalgo Park, the Regional Museum of Anthropology and History of the Soconusco. 

Day 9:  Cruise the Pacific Ocean.

Day 10:  Explore Puntarenas' incredible natural wonders.  You will be awed by the spectacular rainforest canopy, where you can either walk through it or ride an aerial tram.  Discover breathtaking waterfalls, butterfly gardens and a cloud forest.  Walk through a forest to a beach where you can swim, enjoy a scenic drive to San Jose or take a horseback ride.  

Day 11:  Cruise the Pacific Ocean.

Day 12:   Cruise the Panama Canal Crossing.

Day 13:  Make a stop at Cartagena, Colombia, where you can take a scenic drive through the residential area of Manga, or explore the Castillo San Felipe de Barajas, a fort that was once the most important military structure in Latin America.  Enjoy a boat ride to the Isla del Rosario and continue to the island of San Martin de Pajarales. 

Day 14:  Cruise the Caribbean Sea.

Day 15:  Cruise the Straits of Florida.

Day 16:  Spend the day in Key West, Florida, where you will visit the Butterfly and Nature Conservatory, the Aquarium, and the 19th century Hemingway Home and Museum.

Day 17:  You will arrive in Miami, Florida, where you will disembark and transfer to the airport for your return flight home.
