Program Extraordinaire
This award recognizes exceptional alumni programs sponsored by a collegiate unit, alumni society or geographic chapter.

Award Qualifications

A program put on by a college, alumni society or alumni chapter is eligible for the Program Extraordinaire Award.  A single program or event cannot win this award more than once (e.g. golf tournament, reunion, or other annual event within a college or chapter) unless the event has significantly changed in content or scope since the original award was made. An alumni group is not eligible to receive both a Program Extraordinaire Award and the Outstanding Society or Chapter Award in the same year.

Award Criteria

  • Program Details: Nominations will be considered based on the creativity, innovation, and effectiveness of a program that engages alumni with the University of Minnesota Alumni Association and collegiate unit, alumni society or alumni chapter.
  • Volunteer Involvement:  Programs must demonstrate volunteer involvement in the planning and execution of the program.
  • Membership and Program Growth: Programs must show measureable growth in alumni membership and/or program participation.

Nomination Requirements

  • Nomination Worksheet of no more than two pages total (see right side-bar)
  • Additional information you would like the awards committee to consider, such as program materials, photographs, etc. no more than three pages in length
