The Memorial Stadium Arch
archtest.jpg
A symbol of past generations, the Memorial Stadium Processional Arch has been rebuilt inside the Memorial Hall. Thanks to contributions from the Class of 1942, the arch was dismantled and preserved in 1992 when the stadium, after more than a decade without football, was demolished. The alumni center stands on part of the old stadium site.

The Processional Arch was more than an entrance to the stadium. At the apex of the stadium's horseshoe shape, it served as the entrance for the cheerleaders and marching band. Above the arch is a cartouche honoring alumni, students, and staff who served in World War I.

The arch is now located at the north end of the Memorial Hall and serves as the entrance to the Heritage Gallery. It leans into the hall at an angle, like a painting in a museum.
