UMAA Backs Stadium Plan

The Univeristy of Minnesota Alumni Association today issued the following statement in support of the on-campus stadium proposal now before the Minnesota Legislature:

The University of Minnesota Alumni Association (UMAA) supports the University's plan as approved by the Board of Regents on March 27, 2006, that would provide more state money for a stadium in exchange for a parcel of University-owned land at UMore Park being set aside for a state-owned nature reserve, or such revised plan that is supported by the University President and the Board of Regents. The UMAA made the first contribution to the new stadium--$1 million in 2003--and we look forward to once again enjoying Gopher football where it belongs-on campus.
