Goldy is Lead Star at KERA

Four North Texas Chapter Gophers (five if you include Goldy) worked the pledge phones at KERA on March 3^rd of 2007. Some very popular programs aired this time around, including Lidia’s Italian Kitchen, “Dr. Christiane Northrup’s Menopause and Beyond: New Wisdom for Women”, and Dr. Weir’s healthy eating program.

First time coming out to a North Texas Chapter event is Emily Clough, Ph.D. We found out that Dr. Clough is an Assistant Professor at the University of North Texas, Department of Political Science. With the help of Goldy, Dr. Clough took more pledges than any other Alumni. Hats off to the rookie!

As many of us who have been in the North Central Texas area already know, KERA is public television, our local affiliate of Public Broadcast System (PBS), which is a non-profit organization. The pledge drive is the primary source of funding for KERA. With the North Texas Chapter helping them out during the pledge drive, we show that we are not taking for granted this important basic community service.
