Third Time is a Charm

3^rd Annual North Texas Chapter KERA Pledge Drive

On March 15, 2008 six super delegates from the University of Minnesota Alumni Association – North Texas Chapter worked the KERA pledge phone. Popular programs aired during our stint in the studios of KERA, including segments on John Denver and another on Irish Pubs.

Four North Texas Chapter Alumni volunteered for the first time taking pledges from KERA viewers. It is good to know that volunteerism and a sense of civic duty is alive with Gophers in the North Texas Chapter

As many of us who have been in the North Central Texas area already know, KERA is public television, our local affiliate of Public Broadcast System (PBS), which is a non-profit organization. The pledge drive is the primary source of funding for KERA. With the North Texas Chapter helping them out during the pledge drive, we show that we are not taking for granted this important basic community service.
