| Overview
The University of Minnesota Alumni Association requests nominations for the Alumni Association Awards. Each fall, the Alumni Association celebrates the achievements of outstanding individuals, alumni societies and alumni chapters that have demonstrated exceptional commitment and leadership to the Alumni Association and the University from the past year (between June 1, 2008-May 31, 2009) with the Alumni Awards Celebration. These awards recognize and celebrate those who are contributing to the mission of the Alumni Association by connecting alumni, students, and friends in lifelong support of the University of Minnesota and each other.
Nomination process
Nominations can be submitted by faculty, staff, students and alumni of the University of Minnesota.
All nominations are due by July 15, 2009 to the University of Minnesota Alumni Association. Criteria and nomination procedures may have changed from previous years, so please read the descriptions carefully. Required forms and specific directions on the awards can be accessed through the links below.

Outstanding Alumni Society of the Year This award recognizes the outstanding total programming efforts of the society in support of the Alumni Association, collegiate unit and University. |

Outstanding Alumni Chapter of the Year Located around the world, alumni chapters are essential for connecting University of Minnesota alumni to each other and the University. This award recognizes the outstanding achievements of a chapter. |

Program Extraordinaire This award recognizes exceptional alumni programs sponsored by a collegiate unit, alumni society and geographic chapter. |

Faculty/Staff Volunteer of the Year This award celebrates an exceptional individual who has shared time and talents to engage alumni through their active participation and leadership of programs and activities that support his/her college and the Alumni Association. |

Student Volunteer of the Year This award celebrates an exceptional individual who has shared time and talents to engage alumni through their commitment and excitement that supports his/her college and the Alumni Association. |
Selection Process and Awards Celebration
An Alumni Association committee will review each nomination and make the final selections in August. Award recipients will be informed by August 24, 2009.
The Alumni Awards Celebration will be held in McNamara Alumni Center, Thursday, October 8, 2009. We expect Alumni Association Award recipients to attend this event and enjoy the celebration. Additionally, award recipients will also be recognized in a winter issue of Minnesota magazine.
For each award submitted please send a completed nomination cover sheet, the award worksheet and the award’s required documents. Mail or e-mail your application to the address below. Complete nominations must be received by the Alumni Association by Wednesday, July 15, 2009. Feel free to contact Anne Sumangil if you have questions.
