A Pound of Prevention
Americans are gaining weight and becoming obese at unprecedented rates. It is an epidemic whose causes involve everything from school lunches to lack of exercise to economics and whose consequences include shortened life expectancy and even fatal diseases. But dozens of University researchers are working toward solutions to the obesity epidemic by getting at the root causes, intervening with individuals and systems, and curbing people’s seemingly insatiable appetite for sugar and fat.
