Q. How do I get to the McNamara Alumni Center?
A. From southbound 35W
1. Take Exit #17C, University Avenue exit.
2. Cross Fourth Street SE; turn left on University Avenue SE.
3. Drive 10 blocks to Oak Street SE; turn right.
4. McNamara Alumni Center is on your right.

From northbound 35W
1. Take Exit #17C, Third Street/University of Minnesota exit.
2. Take next immediate exit on right, University of Minnesota East Bank.
3. Merge onto Washington Avenue SE and follow over Washington Avenue Bridge.
4. Follow Washington Avenue past Radisson Hotel on left to Oak Street and turn left.
5. McNamara Alumni Center is on your left.

From I-94
1. Take University of Minnesota/Huron Exit #235B.
2. Follow Huron Boulevard two blocks to Washington Avenue and turn left.
3. At second light, Oak Street, turn right.
4. McNamara Alumni Center is on your left.

From Airport
1. Take Hwy 5 north
2. Take 55 west (Minneapolis exit). 55 turns into Hwy 62.
3. Follow 62 to 35W and go north.
4. Follow directions "From northbound 35W," above.

From downtown Minneapolis
1. Take Fourth Street east toward St. Paul.
2. Fourth Street becomes Washington Avenue.
3. Follow Washington Avenue across Washington Avenue Bridge, past RadissonHotel on left. At Oak Street turn left.
4. McNamara Alumni Center is on your left.

Note: From downtown Minneapolis, you also may travel south on Sixth Street to I-94 eastbound; then follow I-94 directions.



Q. Where do I park near the McNamara Alumni Center?
A. The closest and easiest parking is in the new University Avenue Ramp, just west of the building on University. The ramp can only be entered from University Avenue going west, so if you are coming from the south or east, follow 4th Street east past Williams Arena and turn left at 18th and left onto University. The ramp is on the right side one block ahead.

The Washington Avenue Ramp is also nearby, just west of the Radisson between Harvard and Union Streets. To enter, turn onto Harvard from Washington and follow the road counterclockwise around the ramp to the entrance.



Q. Do you need to have a degree from the University of Minnesota to join the alumni association?
A. The University of Minnesota Alumni Association welcomes alumni, friends, faculty, staff, students and parents into the membership ranks. 



Q. How do I join a society or interest group?
A. Membership in one Collegiate Society and/or any Interest Group(s) is free with your Alumni Association membership. On the membership form, simply select the group(s) you desire to be affilitated with. Q. How do I join a chapter?
A. Actually, you are already a member of a chapter if you live in one of our chapter areas. Chapters are located in many major urban areas outside of Minneapolis/St. Paul, throughout the world, and several smaller areas as well.
