International Chapters
International Chapter Criteria

Chapter Responsibilities:

  • Select/elect a board of directors or committee who are preferably members of the Alumni Association 
  • Plan, promote and implement one or more alumni activities per year that support Alumni Association goals, i.e. student scholarship fundraising, student recruitment, mentoring, spirit-raising, etc.
  • Complete and submit to Alumni Association: 
    A roster of the Chapter Leadership
    A schedule of events for the year
    A year end evaluation
  • Host visiting University dignitaries when possible
  • Assist in the identification of U of M alumni in the chapter area and forward to Alumni Association
  • Provide Alumni Association periodic communication (email or surface mail) about the chapter’s activities

Alumni Association Responsibilities:

  • Provide one list per year of alumni living in the chapter’s mailing area
  • Provide guidance on organizing the chapter and related events and activities
  • Provide assistance in linking university faculty or representatives as speakers for chapter events
  • Provide event packs containing decorations, University literature, and promotional items for events
  • Provide chapter web site to promote events and activities
  • Provide Alumni Association Campus Update Videos for use at chapter events
  • Provide Alumni Association chapter leaders/contacts directory to facilitate communication between chapters
