| In 1989, a group of alumni from The Minnesota Daily formed the Minnesota Daily Alumni Association (MDAA) to ensure both financial and mentoring support to the nation's best student newspaper. Today, the MDAA is an established alumni association, and throughout the year, hosts a number of events such as a fall social, fall and spring scholarship programs, formal spring banquet, Daily staff-interaction events and individual mentoring programs.
The objectives and purposes of the MDAA is to organize the alumni of The Minnesota Daily and to provide for, develop and facilitate: communication between Daily alumni; development of professional and social contacts among alumni; communication between alumni and the Daily; and opportunities for alumni to support the work and the mission of the Daily through mentorship and financial donations.
The MDAA welcomes all Minnesota Daily alumni, friends, students, parents, faculty and staff. With every new member, the MDAA is able to offer more programs and services in support of the University and its students.
