The College of Liberal Arts Alumni Society represents approximately 14,000 members. In partnership with the College of Liberal Arts, the society is involved in several successful initiatives, including:
- Communication with alumni through CLA Alma Matters (e-mail newsletter sent 3 times per year geared toward Twin Cities area undergraduate alumni) and CLA Reach (print magazine sent periodically to all liberal arts alumni);
- a partnership with the CLA Career and Community Learning Center to connect undergraduate students and liberal arts alumni in various career-readiness mentoring opportunities;
- an annual reception open to alumni, friends and loved ones, honoring the past calendar year’s CLA Dean's List students and featuring a West Bank Arts Quarter arts/entertainment event;
- the Access Minnesota public affairs radio program featuring interviews with noted CLA and University faculty and others;
- participation in student recruitment through alumni-hosted prospective student outreach events each fall and an annual spring calling outreach to admitted students;
- advocacy through the University of Minnesota Legislative Network; and
- other alumni engagement events each year.
With every new member, the College of Liberal Arts Alumni Society is able to offer more programs and services in support of the college and its students.
